TALLAHASSEE, FL – Today, Akin Akinyemi, PhD, RA, CFA, CMS, was sworn into a third term as Leon County Property Appraiser by Circuit Judge David Frank. Having served in the role since 2016, Akin has championed a vision centered on outstanding public service. His leadership fosters a culture of excellence, driving innovation, and ensuring organizational efficiency to better serve the community.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to continue serving Leon County citizens as your elected Property Appraiser,” said Akinyemi. “As I pledged during my campaign, my team and I are dedicated to delivering customer-focused service while prioritizing community education and engagement.”
To advance this commitment, Akin is hosting engagement sessions designed to give citizens the opportunity to connect directly with him. He will kick off the first event on Tuesday, February 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Earley’s Kitchen, 1458 S. Monroe Street, Tallahassee. For more information, call (850) 606-6215. Additionally, plans are being made with Tax Collector Doris Maloy and Clerk of Courts Gwen Marshall to launch a joint session that highlights the interconnected nature of the three offices.
Akinyemi is also proud to announce that he has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Leadership Florida as Co-President of Cornerstone Class 41. In this role, he will serve the remainder of the current one-year term on the board while maintaining lifelong representation of his class in the statewide leadership development program. “It is truly an honor to be elected to serve my community and alongside my colleagues statewide,” Akinyemi added. Selecting participants annually in March, Leadership Florida is a highly competitive statewide program of select private and public sector leaders that exposes them to leadership exercises and experiential activities leading to better understanding of the state apparatus, better communication skills and profound breakthroughs in understanding how to influence others.
