Before You Begin – Helpful Details

  • March 1 is the filing deadline for each tax year.
  • Your ownership and residency status as of January 1 determines your first year of eligibility.
  • Disclosure of your social security number is mandatory and confidential per 196.011(1), Florida Statutes .
  • Married Couples: You must provide your spouse's information on the homestead application.

Get Started – Filing Steps

  1. Gather Your Florida Residency Items.
    • Valid FL Driver's License or FL Identification Card
    • FL Vehicle Tag Number and/or FL Voter Registration
    • Social Security Number
  2. Locate Your Online Property Record.
  3. Review Your Property Summary.
  4. Click File Homestead.
  5. Complete and Submit Online Form.

NOTE: If your property is exempt from public records, you will need to file an application by email, mail, fax, or in-person.
