E-File: Homestead Exemption Instructions

On the following screens, you will be asked to:

  1. Create an E-file user account.
  2. Activate your new user account.
  3. Log into the E-file system and complete the application process.

Please have the following information available for all applicants:

  • Valid Florida driver license or Florida identification card
  • Florida vehicle tag number and/or voter registration
  • Social Security number, Date of Birth, Date of Occupancy, Marital Status and Phone number

NOTE: Disclosure of your social security number is mandatory and confidential. It is required by section 196.011(1), Florida Statutes . The social security number will be used to verify taxpayer identity information and homestead exemption information submitted to property appraisers.
